A teacher at Langham Creek High School is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a pupil.

Megan Marie Weaver, 31, is accused of having an inappropriate interaction with a pupil. Weaver was an English teacher at Langham Creek High School, according to criminal records. According to the Cy-Fair Independent School District, she resigned on April 13.

Weaver had sexual intercourse with a Langham Creek High School student at her house on or around Nov. 20, 2021, according to court filings.

According to school records, the relationship was discovered on March 23 after another student informed her teacher that a “predator” teacher was having many affairs with children. The teenager allegedly told the school’s administration that a boy she was dating had supposedly “hooked up” with a teacher, according to another student.

Court filings indicate one of the kids who reported the information was investigated by the school. According to the female student, the guy told her that he and Weaver started conversing on Snapchat and that they had intercourse. According to the student, he told her that he and Weaver had intercourse after drinking alcoholic beverages. He is said to have shown a photograph of the accused teacher.

Court records state school officials paid a visit to the student’s parents’ house. According to records, the male student involved initially denied having any contact with the teacher, but then admitted to the relationship and how it began. He claimed that he offered Weaver small compliments to show that he was interested. Then, he claimed, Weaver allegedly called him over the weekend through Remind 101, a teacher-only texting system. It was before Thanksgiving in 2021, he claimed. He claimed she was inebriated and had just gotten into a dispute with her spouse when she called.

Documents suggest that is the night they scheduled a date for him to see her at her home. Weaver allegedly phoned him the next day and told him he couldn’t tell anyone about the call, but she allegedly kept phoning through Remind 101. He claimed that Weaver asked him to her home at some point. Records show that when he went to Weaver’s house, she told him, “I have one rule – no sex.” They began drinking tequila, he said, and after a few drinks, she told him, “OK, one kiss,” which led to sexual intercourse in her bedroom.

According to court records, the student’s phone bill showed multiple calls between Weaver and the student from Oct. 30 to Dec. 21 during the investigation.

Several other students were asked regarding Weaver’s relationship with the student, and they indicated that Weaver would have the males linger in her class.

According to court records, 38-year-old Devon Hooper was charged with improper relationship between educator and student and lodged in Comal County Jail before being released the same day.

Emily Anderson, Canyon High School special education teacher pleads guilty after sexually assaulting a student in a class closet

Published

on

After confessing to having sex with a pupil in a classroom closet, a special education inclusion support teacher pled guilty to charges of sexual assault of a minor and improper contact between an educator and student.

In August 2021, Emily Anderson, 35, was detained and accused of sexually assaulting a minor, a second-degree felony. In December 2021, she was detained once more and accused of having inappropriate contact between a teacher and a pupil.

Records show that Anderson acknowledged having intercourse with the victim at Canyon High School in New Braunfels in a closet in a biology class.

As part of her plea agreement, Anderson will now be compelled to register as a sex offender. Over the next ten years, she must additionally complete a total of 60 days in jail time while also being on probation.

In addition to getting a lifetime protective order preventing contact with the victim, Anderson has been ordered to pay a $2,000 fine and perform 500 hours of community service.

After Anderson admitted guilt, the judge in the case gave the victim’s mother the opportunity to speak.

The victim’s mother talked about “the pain she feels seeing her son suffer from depression and anxiety. She said that an ‘ideal punishment’ would be for Anderson to see her own children endure that pain.”

The mother initially contacted the New Braunfels police after discovering graphic texts on her son’s phone that were positively identified as coming from Anderson.

The texts contained information on a sexual encounter Anderson had with the victim in May of that year, according to the police affidavit from Anderson’s initial arrest in August 2021.

The mother testified in court, “When I saw those messages — when I went through that phone, my (instinct) was to go and get you out of that school and deal with you myself”

Anderson was placed on leave after her first arrest and Canyon High School Principal Dustin Davisson sent a letter to parents saying, “I know that it can be quite disturbing to learn that one of our teachers was charged with a crime such as this.”
