Officials say an Irvine physical education teacher was detained this week after he reportedly provided Adderall to football players.
The Irvine Police Department stated Thursday that Anthony Fullman, a 30-year-old Foothill Ranch resident, was detained after he reportedly provided prescription medicine to pupils at Portola High School.
According to a news release, staff at the high school told police on Monday that the part-time PE instructor, who is also the assistant football coach, had likely administered Adderall to a few players on the squad.
According to Irvine Police, detectives examined the charges and discovered proof that Fullman gave Adderall to a few kids throughout the 2021 football season.
Fullman was arrested on suspicion of contributing to a minor’s delinquency, furnishing a controlled substance to a juvenile, and an enhancement for furnishing a controlled substance to a kid on a school campus, according to the investigation.
Fullman, a second-year employee, was also placed on administrative leave by the Irvine Unified School District.
Beyond the students listed, police said they have no evidence that Fullman supplied Adderall pills. If anyone has any new information about this case, they can call Detective Gavin Hudson at 949-724-7168 or email ghudson@cityoffirvine.org.
Trey Cabler, a former debate coach at Bartlesville High School, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly supplying cocaine and alcohol to female students, according to court filings.
