In a Lee County court on Monday, Thomas Deane, a former Canterbury School teacher and assistant lacrosse coach, pled not guilty to 30 charges, including possession of child pornography and improper conduct with a juvenile.
Deane, whose home address is just across the street from a Bonita Springs elementary school, was arrested and charged with inciting child sexual activity and engaging in obscene behavior with a kid in early April.
These allegations come from alleged contact with a boy whom Deane spoke with through the Grindr and Snapchat apps.
Officials issued a list of new accusations relating to the possession of child pornography a month later.
Deane has tried several times since then to get his $600,000 bond reduced, but each attempt has failed. At Monday’s hearing, it was stated that bond was not considered.
Deane’s next court appearance is set for July 13.
