A Lake Elsinore teacher has been arrested for allegedly harassing a pair of underage female students. The teacher, identified as 40-year-old Ryan Campbell, was charged with annoying or molesting a child, according to a press release from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The School Resource Officer with the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Stations was dispatched to the 500 block of Chaney Street, where Ortega High School is located, for reports of a 17-year-old student being harassed by a teacher. The student reported that Campbell had made inappropriate remarks and sent text messages to her during and after school hours, which were not related to school projects or material.
After the first victim came forward, a second 16-year-old student reported similar allegations against Campbell. The press release stated that the context of the text messages sent by Campbell was inappropriate in nature.
Campbell was arrested on Friday following the allegations and was booked for annoying or molesting a child. The case is currently under investigation, and anyone with further information is encouraged to contact the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
