The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that a teacher at Cleveland Independent School had been detained for sexually assaulting a pupil.
On October 10th, Alexander Oveal Jr. was taken into custody and lodged in the Liberty County Jail under a $100,000 bond. Alexander was freed from custody on October 11 after posting bond, according to deputies.
The sexual assault’s specifics were not made public, but deputies claimed they met with the district attorney for Liberty County and the Cleveland ISD Police Department and collected reports and evidence to back their claims.
According to officials, numerous boys and girls from Cleveland Middle School are being questioned about the incident.
