David Schachter, Danforth Junior High School teacher accused of inappropriate conduct

According to court documents, a Wimberley ISD teacher was detained and charged with assault with offensive contact.

According to court documents, David Schachter, 53, was arrested and released from the Hays County jail on Wednesday. Schachter entered a not guilty plea on Wednesday after the case was filed.

When Wimberley ISD learned of the claims of inappropriate behavior, Schachter was placed on leave in early September after starting work there in August. He is no longer employed by the district and has subsequently tendered his resignation.
