A 7-year-old child who was reportedly sexually abused by an elementary school teacher who has worked in both the Irving and Plano school districts was taken into custody.

The allegations against 28-year-old Victor Moreno include ongoing sexual assault of a child and inappropriate interactions between a student and teacher.

The alleged assault, according to the Irving Police Department, occurred in Moreno’s first year of teaching at Irving’s Townsell Elementary School during the 2020–2021 academic year.

It was not until the spring of 2022 that the victim reported what had occurred. Moreno had already left the district at that point due to his failure to fulfill the certification requirements.

For the 2021–2022 academic year, he transferred to the Plano Independent School District; however, he was later dismissed due to a code of conduct infraction.

Early in August, Moreno was released on a bond that was only $15,000.

Prior to 2020, Moreno worked as a tutor and a student teacher in Irving.

After police allegedly discovered a new girl he is accused of abusing on August 25, Moreno was once more taken into custody. He now faces an extra allegation of indecency with a child.

After finding evidence Moreno sexually molested another girl while she was between 13 and 14 years old, the police announced they had filed this additional charge.
