Daena Coreas Delgado, Bay City ISD teacher arrested for improper relationship with student and online solicitation of a minor under 14

A 31-year-old woman was detained by Bay City police on Thursday morning, August 25, for illegal relationships between educators and internet solicitation of a juvenile under 14, according to police reports.

On August 25, Sgt. Minerva Pena was dispatched to Municipal Court to serve a warrant.

When Pena arrived, she executed a warrant for improper relationships between educators and internet solicitation of a juvenile under 14 on Daena Coreas Delgado, 31, of Bay City.

According to authorities, the warrants are the outcome of an investigation that started in October 2021.

Initial reports indicate that Delgado assaulted the victim, who was under the age of 14 and was then investigated and detained for injury to a child.

The victim, a former student, and Delgado had an inappropriate relationship, according to additional inquiry, the police said, adding that the same victim had also been the target of internet solicitation.

The defendant was transferred to the Matagorda County Jail where he was arrested on charges after detectives obtained warrants and served them to him.

Detectives currently assume there is just one victim.
