Following allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a student, a teacher with Tuscaloosa City Schools was detained.
Arthur Clark, 31, is accused of second-degree rape and participating in a sexual act with a kid while working at a school. He was employed at the alternative school that the 15-year-old student had previously attended, Tuscaloosa City Schools STARS Academy.
The Eastwood Middle School parking lot on Mary Harmon Bryant Drive in Cottondale was the scene of a reported sexual conduct on Friday, Sept. 16, according to charging documents. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called to the scene. The incident occurred at about nine o’clock.
The alleged sexual conduct was happening inside a black pickup truck, and both Clark and the victim said it was consenting sexual contact.
The victim’s mother called the police to report the occurrence.
Clark was detained on Saturday, according to Captain Jack Kennedy. Since then, he has been freed on a $30,000 bond from the Tuscaloosa County Jail.
