In relation to the inquiry, prosecutors have accused Brandon Holbrook, 30, of three counts of statutory rape and six counts of statutory sodomy. In the early hours of Saturday, authorities issued arrest orders for Holbrook.
Authorities were informed earlier this week of a questionable relationship between Holbrook and the victim, a 14-year-old. He initially met the victim while working as a substitute teacher at Bernard Elementary School, according to the investigators.
In court filings, it is said that investigators think Holbrook groomed the victim on social media sites in May 2022 while exchanging messages and pictures with the victim. According to court records, the suspect visited the victim’s home at least three times and had intercourse with her.
“The defendant poses a danger to the victim because the defendant made veiled threats to the victim if the victim disclosed this information and is aware of where the victim resides,” said the St. Louis County Police Department on Holbrook.
The Mehlville School District was one of the places in St. Louis County where Holbrook previously worked as a substitute teacher.
The Mehlville School District claims that on September 12, a victim’s friend spoke with a counselor about their concerns. The Missouri Division of Children’s Services was promptly informed, and St. Louis County Police were contacted. On our substitute roster, Holbrook was declared inactive on September 12.
