William Deacon, Maury High School teacher arrested on attempted indecent liberties with a child

This week, Chesapeake Police detained a Norfolk teacher. William Deacon IV is accused of numerous crimes against children.

A Norfolk Public Schools official identified the 35-year-old as a business information and technology instructor at Maury High School.

After police raided his Chesapeake home at Kendale Circle on Monday, he was taken into custody. Eight felonies have been filed against the high school instructor from January through March of this year.

Those charges include:

• Five felony counts of proposing a sex act with a person under the age of 15.
• Three felony counts of attempted indecent liberties with a child under the age of 15.

Deacon’s cell phone was also searched by Chesapeake Police in accordance with a search order, and according to them, “files containing photos showing child pornography were instantly identified.”

The arrest was made in collaboration with the NCIS, the FBI, and the department’s Internet Crimes Against Children team.

Deacon is being held by the Chesapeake Sheriff’s Office with no bond.

Deacon’s next court date is scheduled for November 29.
