On Monday, September 12, a substitute teacher in Caddo Parish was detained for allegedly inciting classmates to assault and bully a classmate.
Aadrina Smith, 24, was employed at North Caddo Elementary Middle School (Vivian, Louisiana) when the alleged incident occurred on August 23 during a P.E. class, according to a report received by the Caddo Youth Services Division.
According to Detective Williams with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, Smith proposed paying five different pupils $5 apiece to bully a classmate.

On the incident’s footage, Smith can be seen speaking to the five pupils and appearing to congratulate the three who took part in the battery.
The victim was lying on the gym floor when the substitute instructor sat down in the bleachers and later stood up. Smith did not assist the victim, though, and he did not report the incident.
Detectives claimed that the substitute instructor was taking revenge on the middle schooler.
“Smith thought the student had told the vice principal that she left work early the day before, which happens to be the suspect’s birthday,”
The alleged abuse was reported to the school system when the child told her mother about it.
Smith was taken into custody and lodged in the Caddo Correctional Center on five counts of aiding juvenile delinquency and one count of official misconduct. Her bail is set at $100,000.
The Caddo Parish School District also let her go.
Authorities added that additional arrests are expected and that the investigation is still ongoing. She is charged with misconduct on one offense and five charges of juvenile delinquency. More charges are expected to follow.
