According to school records, the relationship was discovered on March 23 after another student informed her teacher that a “predator” teacher was having many affairs with children. The teenager allegedly told the school’s administration that a boy she was dating had supposedly “hooked up” with a teacher.

Court records state school officials paid a visit to the student’s parent’s house. According to records, the male student involved initially denied having any contact with the teacher, but then admitted to the relationship and how it began. He claimed that he offered Weaver small compliments to show that he was interested. Then, he claimed, Weaver allegedly called him over the weekend through Remind 101, a teacher-only texting system. It was before Thanksgiving in 2021, he claimed. He claimed she was inebriated and had just gotten into a dispute with her spouse when she called.

Documents suggest that is the night they scheduled a date for him to see her at her home. Weaver allegedly phoned him the next day and told him he couldn’t tell anyone about the call, but she allegedly kept phoning through Remind 101. He claimed that Weaver asked him to her home at some point. Records show that when he went to Weaver’s house, she told him, “I have one rule – no sex.” They began drinking tequila, he said, and after a few drinks, she told him, “OK, one kiss,” which led to sexual intercourse in her bedroom.

According to court records, the student’s phone bill showed multiple calls between Weaver and the student from Oct. 30 to Dec. 21 during the investigation.

On August 22nd, 2022, Megan Weaver pleaded guilty and was ordered to Deferred Adjudication Community Supervision for 4 years which is probation. She is also required to register as a sex offender and must voluntarily surrender her teaching license to the Texas Education Agency.
