A Chicago public school teacher was found guilty of “sexually exploiting” two boys, one from Indiana and one from Illinois, and was given a 50-year jail sentence.

According to court records, he taught kindergarteners for three years as he committed these crimes. Pedro Ibarra, 48, of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, has been named as the man.

Ibarra persuaded a young kid from Indiana to engage in “sexually graphic activity,” which Ibarra then recorded on his iPhone. It took place in June 2021.

Ibarra traveled from Illinois to Hancock County that same month to pick up the youngster and transport him to a nearby hotel. He participated in “sexually explicit behavior” with the boy after bringing him to the hotel, which was once more caught on camera.

Ibarra’s cell phone was accessible to the police. According to court filings, Ibarra was caught on multiple recordings engaging in sexual contact with another juvenile, and photographs of the Indiana child were also discovered. Later, detectives discovered that the other boy is from Illinois. He is reportedly under the age of fifteen.

Ibarra will be required to register as a sex offender wherever he lives, works, or goes to school.
