Shaundra Cartwright, White House Middle School teacher’s aide arrested for statutory rape of student

A teacher’s assistant in Sumner County was detained after it was determined that she had reportedly engaged in sexual activity with a pupil.

The 42-year-old Shaundra Cartwright was apprehended on Tuesday after a lengthy investigation.

A worried family member of a 17-year-old kid contacted the Millersville Police Department on June 8 regarding the boy and Cartwright having a sexual relationship. Cartwright worked at White House Middle School as a teacher’s assistant.

Authorities discovered the relationship started around two years ago after conducting an inquiry. On Snapchat, messages between the two were discovered.

Before the teenager’s family found out, detectives discovered that Cartwright had raped the student about 15 times.

The case was brought to a grand jury by the Millersville Police Department earlier this month. Cartwright was charged with statutory rape by a public official and ongoing child sex abuse in sealed indictments.
