Following claims of sexual impropriety on school grounds, a Greenbrier Middle School teacher has been suspended.
The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office reports that John Nolan Keathley, 54, was detained as a result of an investigation that got underway in March 2022. A sealed capias was issued when the case was brought before the Robertson County Grand Jury in July. The Robertson County Sheriff’s Office detained Keathley on July 31 after charging her with “public immorality, solicitation of a juvenile, and indecent exposure.”
Keathley, a teacher at Greenbrier Middle School, is accused of engaging in “self-stimulation” by purposefully exposing himself in a classroom and the boy’s restroom, both of which were located on school grounds, according to the indictment. Keathley “should have reasonably known that a kid or children would be there at the time of the offense,” the accusation adds. (And that he) “engaged in sexual behavior with the intent to have a minor kid see such behavior,” according to allegations.
According to officials with Robertson County Schools, “Keathly has been suspended pending the outcome of an investigation and any legal proceedings that might ensue.” Keathly has been a Robertson County Schools teacher since 2007 holding a teaching position at Greenbrier Middle School following an assignment at Greenbrier Elementary School prior to that, officials said.
Keathly was booked into custody at the Robertson County Detention Facility in Springfield under a $10,000 bond. He has since bonded out.
