According to U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger, a retired middle school teacher was detained on June 15, 2022, for receiving and distributing child porn.
In a complaint, Robert H. Conrad, 73, of Roselle, New Jersey, is accused of receiving and distributing child pornography on two separate counts. He was granted release on a $100,000 unsecured bail with home confinement and electronic monitoring after appearing via videoconference before U.S. Magistrate Edward S. Kiel.
According to court testimony and evidence submitted in this case:
Conrad allegedly had a continuous sexually explicit chat with an undercover agent on a web-based social networking application from March 2018 to June 2018. Conrad supplied comparable recordings to the undercover agent directly after publicly posting many videos of child sexual abuse in a chatroom. The complaint claims that when Conrad was apprehended at home, police found multiple recordings of child pornography on his computer devices.
The obligatory minimum sentence for both distribution and reception of child pornography is five years in jail, with a potential maximum sentence of twenty years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
