A Warren County School District teacher is accused of making inappropriate contact with a student and is facing a number of criminal charges.
Rachel E. Lasecki, 26, of Warren, is accused of two charges of corruption of minors, aggravated indecent assault, institutional sexual assault—school—sex contact with a student, unlawful contact with minor—sexual acts, and indecent assault.
In 2021, Lasecki reportedly had inappropriate contact with a high school student under the age of 18, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
Police said that a February report of suspected abuse that “expressed concerns over probable grooming tendencies” prompted them to schedule a forensic interview with the alleged victim at the Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center.
According to the affidavit, Lasecki made alcohol and marijuana available to the student and “exposed (the victim) to sexually explicit material via the internet on more than one occasion.”
The affidavit claims that Lasecki inappropriately handled the victim when they were in his automobile at a rural Warren County site.
Lasecki most recently worked as a teacher at Warren Area Elementary Center, according to the Warren County School District website. The affidavit states that Lasecki worked as a coach at Warren Area High School.
Amy Stewart, the district superintendent, chose to remain silent on the subject due to personnel concerns.
In front of District Judge Laura Bauer, Lasecki was arraigned at 3 p.m. on July 1st and released on a $25,000 unsecured bail.
The preliminary hearing is scheduled on July 27 at 3 p.m.
