Haley Reed, Oldham County High School choir teacher sentenced for rape of an underage student

For having sex with a minor pupil in 2018, a former teacher at Oldham County High School received a sentence on Thursday.

According to the office of the Commonwealth’s Attorney, LaGrange resident Haley Reed was given a sentence for one count of rape and illegal dealing with a child.

Reed, who oversaw the high school choir, previously confessed to having sex with a minor on the school grounds several times between April and June 2018.

Reed was charged with multiple counts of rape and sodomy as well as an unlawful transaction with a minor. She is reportedly married and has children.

Reed will serve a total of five years in prison, and probation is not an option, it was declared during Thursday’s sentencing.

Reed will be required to complete sex offender treatment and register as a sex offender for life, according to the commonwealth’s attorney.
