A teacher from Mercedes ISD was detained on suspicion of breaking a restraining order.
Frank Fuentes was detained by Mercedes Police on Monday for violating a protective order, a class A misdemeanor, according to Hidalgo County Records.
Fuentes was detained on May 9 on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a pupil who was 16 at the time the violation was committed.
On May 19, Fuentes was taken into custody again on two counts of indecency with a child and sexual contact.
A protective order against the victim had been served on him.
However, according to Mercedes PD, days after his arrest, police discovered that he had contacted the victim via an internet application.
His $10,000 bond was reportedly issued, according to records.
