A Terrebonne Parish coach is charged with unlawful sexual contact between an educator and a student, which is a misdemeanor. According to the police report, on November 22nd, 2021, Houma officers were dispatched to Terrebonne High School in response to a report of “indecent behavior” involving 57-year-old Marty Collins.

There was no physical contact, according to Lt. Travis Theriot, and unlawful sexual activity took place over the phone and over a long period of time. Collins was not arrested but was issued a summons for a misdemeanor offense.

Collins was the head coach for both the girls’ and boys’ Cross Country teams, as well as the Student Activities Coordinator and a social studies teacher at the school. He has also taught at Vanderbilt Catholic and Hahnville High School. When pressed for more information about what happened, the Superintendent stated that they are unable to speak on personnel issues. Collins no longer works for the school system, he did say.
