On the last day of school, the Clark County School District Police Department detained a high school teacher.
Michael Loyd, 34, was arrested on May 25 and is charged with open/gross lewdness, engaging in sex with a student as a school employee, and possessing a hazardous substance without a prescription. Loyd was sent to the Clark County Detention Center for processing.
According to the school’s website, Loyd taught at Palo Verde High School, and CCSDPD said he has been with the district since January 2016. According to Loyd’s LinkedIn profile, he is a special education teacher at the school.
