Following an alleged incident in January, a Bagley Middle School teacher was charged with sexual battery against a kid under the age of 16.
Richard Wayne Hejda was recognized as the teacher.
The school’s assistant principal alerted the school resource officer that a teacher had touched a student on the bottom, according to the report. The assistant principal was informed by another pupil. The student was then interviewed by the SRO and assistant principal.
Officials said the youngster got up from her seat to sign out to use the restroom.
According to the report, the kid left for the bathroom, went in, then left the bathroom and returned to class by a different entryway. When the incident occurred, there were no cameras in the room, but there was one in the hallway.
The investigation has been handed up to the GBI.
It is unknown whether Hejda is still employed by the institution.
Hejda was also charged with sexual battery against a child under the age of 16 in a second incident that occurred in September of 2020. He was not charged with anything.
