Olivia Lois Ortz, Wilmington High School Teacher arrested for sex with female student after husband informs the headteacher

After her spouse told the school about their affair, a Pennsylvania high school music teacher was arrested and accused of having a sexual relationship with one of her students.

Olivia Lois Ortz, a Wilmington Area High School teacher, was charged with two counts of sexual contact with a 17-year-old student and one count of sexual offense with a child, according to New Castle News.

Ms. Ortz of Hermitage was dismissed from school on May 9th, and an arrest warrant was issued the following day. She escaped over the weekend before surrendering to authorities on Monday afternoon.

Her husband, Cody Ortz, informed the school’s principal about the situation.

After returning from a trip to Florida, he allegedly discovered incriminating message exchanges on Ms. Ortz’s iPad, revealing his wife’s involvement with a female classmate.

According to the criminal complaint in the case, the New Wilmington Borough police launched an investigation and discovered more than 100 messages between Ms. Ortz and the adolescent on the music streaming site Spotify’s chat function.

When her husband was away, the adolescent admitted to seeing Ms. Ortz numerous times and even staying overnight.

On Monday, the juvenile and her parents were interviewed by the police, and the girl claimed that they continued to communicate even after search warrants were issued against Ms. Ortz.

Ms. Ortz’s predecessor, the school’s music director Jonathan Priano, 37, is also facing sexual misconduct claims with his students, and a case is currently ongoing in court. He was said to enjoy tickling the feet of his female students and to have close, personal relationships with them.

He was charged with ten counts of institutional sexual assault, as well as 12 counts of minor corruption and two counts of endangering children’s welfare.
