On charges of having sexual contact with a student, a former River Ridge High School teacher was arrested.
Nicholas Morrow, 30, was arrested on three counts of sexual assault by a teacher on Tuesday.
Morrow is accused of having sexual contact with a student at the school between May 2 and May 17 at his residence in Holly Springs, according to his arrest warrant.
Morrow was arrested on accusations resulting from “an alleged inappropriate relationship with a pupil,” according to a statement issued to parents at the school on Wednesday morning.
Morrow was arrested after a collaborative investigation by the CCSD Police Department and the Holly Springs Police Department, according to the school district.
“He was removed by CCSD from his teaching responsibilities as soon as the allegations were reported; he resigned from CCSD, effective immediately, prior to his arrest,” the district told families. “Our School District takes the safety and security of our students very seriously, and inappropriate behavior by our staff toward students will not be tolerated.”
Morrow was released from jail Wednesday on a $17,100 bond, according to the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.
Morrow was an English teacher at River Ridge, and had worked for the school district since 2020.
