Keith D. Green, 55, of Ashmore, was arrested for grooming by Mattoon Police. The arrest took place at the Charleston Police Department on May 17th at 9:30 p.m. Mattoon Police Department and Mattoon Community School District #2 collaborated on the arrest.
Green is accused of using an electronic device to communicate with a female under the age of 17 in order to solicit sexual encounters with the minor, according to the accusation. Green worked as a substitute teacher in the area at the time of the alleged crime. Mattoon Community School District #2 promptly notified the Mattoon Police Department after learning of the claims at around 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17th. Following that, the police acquired supporting evidence and statements from Green and the victim.
