After threatening to kill a coworker, a Kaufman ISD teacher was arrested today.
Wendy Dawson, 58, was arrested and accused with threatening a public servant while at work on Thursday. Without incident, she was taken off the Monday Primary campus.
Dawson made a threat against a colleague teacher in front of other district employees on Tuesday, May 3, according to the arrest warrant.
“Dawson threatened to shoot and kill another school employee with a gun she had in her car on the school campus,” according to the complaint.
After school authorities alerted Kaufman ISD Police, two officers arrived and conducted a voluntary check of Dawson’s vehicle.
Officers discovered a Taurus Spectrum.380 caliber pistol in the central console of Dawson’s automobile. According to the arrest warrant document, the revolver was loaded with a round in the chamber.
The inquiry is being led by the Kaufman ISD Police Department, which has requested an arrest warrant.
Dawson will be arraigned by a Kaufman County magistrate on Friday morning, and bail will be determined.
