Trisha Phillippe, Roanoke-Benson High School teacher’s aide charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse

After a relationship with a 14-year-old student, a study hall instructor at Roanoke-Benson High School has been charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse.

Trisha Phillippe, 40, is charged with one count of severe criminal sexual abuse and another of disseminating graphic information to minors, according to court filings.

According to the records, during an interview with the student, he revealed sexual text exchanges between him and Phillippe, including photographs of female breasts in bras and uncovered.

Phillipe confirmed in his verified statement of arrest that she did email the images and that he had received them as well. She also acknowledged kissing at school.

The student acknowledged that he stayed after school with Phillippe on three times recently, the most recent of which occurred on April 1 when she kissed him in her classroom area and grabbed his groin. Phillippe claims it was a mistake.

He also allegedly touched her breast over her clothes, according to the student.

Phillippe was absent from the courtroom on Thursday. Her lawyer claims she is currently in a mental health facility seeking treatment.

A not guilty plea was made.

She has already posted bond, according to court documents. Phillippe will appear in court again on May 9th.

Phillipe left her position as a school aide on April 4 after an inquiry into alleged inappropriate behavior began, according to a statement from the school.
