Nathan Bramstedt, 42, is suspected of having inappropriate sexual contact with a former pupil, according to DuPage County officials. Nine counts of criminal sexual assault and three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse have been filed against him.
Bramstedt taught chorus at Aurora’s Metea Valley High School.
On Saturday, Bramstedt appeared in court, where his bond was set at $500,000.
Bramstedt is suspected of sexually abusing a juvenile, who was 17 at the time, from February to June 2019 “on many occasions at multiple locations throughout the school,” according to the DuPage County State’s Attorney and Aurora police.
The suspected victim reported the event last year, according to authorities. When the investigation began in April 2021, Bramstedt was placed on administrative leave. Later, he resigned.
Bramstedt was arrested on Friday and appeared in bond court the following morning. He is scheduled to appear in court on May 2.
