Florida teacher faces child abuse charge after hitting a 12-year-old with a broomstick, say deputies

A teacher on the Treasure Coast is charged with child abuse for striking a student with a broomstick.

St. Lucie County Sheriff Ken Mascara announced Cyntyche Darling Lundy, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested on a felony warrant by Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office deputies on Friday.

Darling Lundy, 49, was an ESE teacher at Forest Grove Middle School in Fort Pierce.

Sheriff Mascara said his office started investigating the child abuse allegations when they learned about the case on Friday.
