Authorities in California have detained a biology teacher for allegedly assaulting seven students and uploading graphic images online.

According to the Costa District Attorney’s Office, Anessa Paige Gower, 35, is facing 29 separate criminal counts for alleged abuse while teaching at Making Waves Academy in Richmond.

The abuse, which began last year, includes sex activities with children, inappropriate touching, and sending sexually graphic photographs, according to authorities.

The victims’ ages and genders have not been confirmed, but the charter school serves children in grades 5 to 12.

When Gower returned from a trip in Hawaii last Wednesday, she was arrested at Sacramento International Airport.

She is currently being held in Richmond on various charges of child molestation.

Alton B. Nelson Jr., the CEO of Making Waves Academy, claimed Gower was fired after the claims surfaced.
